As Tim Bates said; "Script debugger 2 sanely returns the path to the script. Golden!"

SMILE also has this faculty.

So using SMILE overcomes work-arounds necessary for the Script Editor -- SMILE also kicks SE's butt in nearly every other respect and is freeware.
