Well, I found it amusing, anyway.
I've been working all day in MS Entourage, with Script Editor open in the
background to test various syntax examples about which I'm corresponding
with somebody.
So, I finish my work, quit Entourage and Script Editor, and, hoping for a
little brainless relaxation, double-click the "Browse the Internet" script
Apple thoughtfully put on my desktop (cleverly disguised as a real
application). I promptly get the following error alert:
"To run this script application, you must first install AppleScript."
Geez! I've only been running AppleScripts all day long. Mac OS 9.1 isn't as
stable as it's cracked up to be, methinks -- even after successfully
installing the latest firmware upgrade to my new 733 MHz Power Mac G4. (I'm
not complaining, mind you; that error alert came up FAST!)
I also successfully installed the MS Office 2001 service pack 1, and my
impression is that Entourage is LESS stable than before. It froze the entire
machine on me several times today, for no apparent reason (and I DID remove
the Windows Media Player plug-in, as advised in an obscure corner of the
service pack's readme).
