Yes I've use the method occasionally,I've been avoiding, since it makes
editing so ponderous. Was hoping there'd be an alternative for scripts
intended for my own machine.


Out of curiosity, is there any practical difference between John
Delacours syntax:
set someApp to ((the first process whose ,
creator type is appFileID as type class) as +class psn ;)

and
set appName to name of application file id "FMP5"
