What "UPPER" command? The Finder doesn't have any UPPER command. it sounds
like some scripting addition which you must have got rid of, for reasons
best known to yourself. Akua Sweets has a

transcribe "string" as upper cased

command, which I recommend.

ACME Script Widgets has a

change case of "string" to upper

Kamprath Text Utilities has a

set capitalization in "string" to all upper case

On the other hand, OneClick's EasyScript does have an Upper command.
Probably some other languages do too. But you're in AppleScript now. There
may be some osax whose command is "Upper", but I don't know it. Try one of
the three above. If you don't have them, you can get them at
