I have a script, where the ONLY way of getting it to run without errors, beeps, warnings etc, when activated via the assigned key command, was to save the script as an applet, and set OSA Menu to use Finder to run the Script! Since then, I always run my scripts this way, just to be safe. You may try to do the same.
I never understood why I had to do these things, but it's the way I had to do. Obviously, there is some difference in execution between activating the script via OSA Menu and doing it with a key command. Strange...

The script works great on my macs with OS 8.6. However, i upgraded one of them to 9.1 and now the whole scripting systems is out of whack. Here's what's happening:

1. I'm in the finder. I switch to another app via the application menu.

2. I switch back to the finder by clicking on any portion of the desktop

3. I press the keystroke to activate the script

1. The script runs. Does its thing. ask for a few inputs. blah blah blah.

2. After it completes, the script launches AGAIN. as if i typed in the keystroke a second time.

3. After that, Sherlock launches! because of the Cmd+F contained in the keystroke.
