Replacing Characters in file name - Part II

Ok, text item delimiters.
That's the consensus and I thank everyone. But apparently, I'm dumb as a
brick. I need another nudge.

I consulted Danny Goodman's section on this topic and I'm able to get test
results isolating these text items, but I'm at a wall once again.
This thing is doing a good job of reminding me that I'm still an AppleScript
nobody.

So, could someone give me an example of setting text item delimiters as it
might apply in my find/replace file name character concept? I wanted this
script to be all my own, but dang'it...
