It's cheating. Files are created when they're created. I can't imagine any
decent use for wanting to change the creation date. Why do you want to do
this?

I do it all the time for QXP files created before i had the XT graypict which allows you to save a substantially reduced size file as it grays out the picture preview of every linked graphic whilst retaining all the picture information. I open the files then do a save as using a quickey which invokes the special graypict save conditions, then change the files creation and modification dates back to the old file using File Buddy- back then we didnt reference files by a unique number but rather by the date sent to press (i.e the last modification date). To be honest I don't do it often enough to warrant investing time in an applescript to automate it (mainly because I'm not that good!!).
