I don't have PS5.5 so I'm somewhat limited in perspective here;
but I'll give it a shot.
First we need some info, is "Thumbnail" a script you've written or
a command of PS?
If it's a script you've written, then you don't need to call it inside
the tell block. In fact, you should only put commands in the tell
block that are to be sent to the application you are telling.
Often you may get away with putting commands in the tell block
that are meant for the finder since if applescript doesn't find a hook
in the app it's trying to tell, it passes the call to the next layer;
which would be the finder. I wouldn't rely on this however, too
many commands have similar syntax and you can really get
blind-sided without even knowing.
If it is a command within PS5.5 then you can use the 'do script'
I know that the 'do script' was in the PS dictionary as recently as
5.0.2 and don't know if it is still current.
