Scripting Newbie

First Post. Newbie. Definitely not clueless, but very inexperienced.
I'm looking for information to script the following process on a G3,
OS9, 128MB using PageMaker 6.52 and Acrobat 4.05a...

I have hundreds of PM Docs that I'd like to select, open and distill
to PDF files in batch. I need to be able to have some interaction
during the process to enter metadata into the title/author/keyword
fields in distiller. I'm trying to avoid the tedious mouse clicks and
keyboard strokes (OK, Save, Returns, PDF Options/Edit Info Buttons).

Is this possible? Am I in the right place? I'm not a programmer, but I
do understand the concept. I've recorded several snipits of code, but
putting it all together is causing me a real headache. Suggestions?
