QuickTime and scripting transition effects

  • Subject: QuickTime and scripting transition effects

I'd like to make a QuickTime movie that creates transition effects. I
haven't seen any obvious way to do this with the QuickTime Player's
dictionary (in QT5), but it's so large that I easily could have missed it.

Does anyone know of a way to use the built-in transition effects by
scripting the QuickTime Player? Does this require a higher-end solution,
like an application (LiveStage, Electrifier) or possibly RealBasic? (I'm
kind-of guess that transitions must be done from a programming, not
scripting, interface. And that that may be intentional, to help drive sales
of some of the QuickTime authoring tools.)

Thanks!
