Yes! I just had to boot into 9.2.2 for the first time. And much other weird
stuff:
Scripts running from internal script menus are painfully slow. Useless, in
fact: they almost all time out. None of the scripts I've written for OE or
Entourage are much good here. Only tiny scripts: I'm trying to use "trigger"
scripts to run applets, and that's where I found that stay-opens don't stay
open. (Scripts running from Rules in OE/Entourage are not seen unless they
are type "osas", hence the need for "trigger" scripts).
'open for access with write permission' now doesn't automatically make files
TEXT files wit ttxt creator - they're blank. So unless you make them txt
files (or something else) the Finder can't open them nor print them. You
can, however, make them TEXT files with ttxt creator by the simple process
of adding a ".txt" extension, which is better than setting creator type in
the Finder, because:
The Finder is so horribly, painfully slow that it too is almost useless. I
had to cut the Finder completely out of the scripts, using Akua for
everything.
None of this is true for AS 1.7 in OS 10.1.1, especially not the Finder
problems, although I'll check up on creator type and file type of files made
by open for access when I get back to OS X (which I hope is very soon).
