I've made a system that automates updating from and committing to cvs,
compiles several builds in CodeWarrior, controls build numbers and expiry
dates, edits some resources, puts together the whole package (application +
other files), builds installers[*] and uploads the result to the server.
Used to be 2 hours work for one (expensive) developer. Now it takes 1 second
of work for anyone authorized to do so, and in under 1 hour all builds are
available. A huge time (=money) saver when you consider that we often need to
make several builds a day.
AppleScript rocks!
[*] For anyone with similar needs, I can recommend Aladdin's Stuffit
InstallerMaker. It's a bit slower than VISE, but quite scriptable. The latest
release has fixed most serious AS problems.
