I've left AppleScript doing things in various capacities in the wake of
my career. All these companies are in the UK....
In certain parts of the Lowe Group (one of the largest Advertising
Agency Groups in the world) it's running entire production systems. In a
smaller agency (DLKW, formerly part of True North), it produces random
adverts from pictures, words and backgrounds.
At my current employer, Independent News and Media, publishers of the
Independent, Independent on Sunday, Irish Independent, Belfast Telegraph
and other publications, AppleScript is used in various parts of the
workflow - from archiving old articles to DVD and controlling the
information display in reception through to producing web pages and
rotating PDFs so that Broadsheet pages fit through an old press that is
only wide enough to print tabloid width pages!
