OK. Ok,

This is an AS discussion list so I will just let others have their preferences in this. I will say that my original point was both that Panorama can execute AS scripts within it's routines, and an AS script can include a Panorama routine. I don't know how common that is, but it sounded pretty cool.

And the ease of use of the AS language is another point. I liked Panorama language right away. I like tweaking with scripts and such. But I do not program for a living - or a hobby. And so the language in Panorama seemed a lot easier to pick up for me. Valentina's (I visited the site) introduction seemed a bit harder for a non database pro to pick up easily.

It is also fair to point out that, as a registered user of FileMaker and of 4D, I qualify for the competitive upgrade price of $100, not $300. So if it's your first data base then yes, $300. If not, $100.

Entity macgix spoke thus:

if you'd been looking for a very powerful scriptable database, you should
have found Valentina PPC from Paradigmasoft.

And at 50$ very affordable too, compared to 300$ for Panorama!

Respectfully said,
It's an over done thread,
Probably better left dead.

Running around in my head.
