Use "List Fonts" OSAX from GTQ Scripting Library
set fontsLst to list fonts -->{"ACaslon Italic", "ACaslon Regular",
"ACaslon Semibold",... gets all active fonts, not just those in Fonts
folder
GTQ lib also contains the ever-brilliant "font information for", which
will tell you everything you've ever wanted to know about a font (opened
or closed) -- I think it even reveals the 'merging structure' of the
various faces in a suitcase.
