I would not run the script part of the script automatically which sends a
reply. Let the script mark or move the HTML messages, and decide by hand
whether to send the reply using another script.
Increasing amounts of SPAM are coming in as HTML only. You don't want to
respond to SPAM...the reply doesn't get to anyone useful...the most it can
do is help the spammer by confirming that your address is live: now he can
sell your address for more. [For the same reason you ignore the "remove"
addresses.]
