I couldn't find what you were referring to, but the first thing that
comes to mind is that PCs and Macs use different invisible characters to
mark line breaks. Macs use carriage returns = CR = ASCII character 13.
PCs use a two-character marker CRLF, a carriage return and a line feed.
Could your problem be in not editing for that? I believe UNIX based
systems use only a LF, so you'd want to accommodate that as well.
