yes I do need to script to 'watch' a folder, also all its sub folders too.
If this is possible, it would be very useful in automating my image creation
process. If this is not possible an applescript droplet will be fine.
The name changes are always constant i.e.
"<filename>-01.jpg" will always change to "<filename>_200x200.jpg

If the name changes you describe are always constant, this is a
straightforward task for AS, which should require very little input from you
once it's set up.
The most efficient solution will depend on the circumstances under which you
want the script to run. You could use an applescript droplet that will
change the names of images in folders dropped onto it, or you could set up a
folder action script that renames the files when they arrive in the folder
that the script is attached to. The second method would allow you to export
directly into this folder from an app like Photoshop or GraphicConverter,
and have the names changed on the fly.
There are several scripts I use for managing/naming/numbering exported image
files. Please provide a little more information about how you would like
your set up to work, and I'll share what I have with you.
