I can think of several options, though I'm sure others on the list will
have more valuable input...

You can download Quicktime 5 Preview which has the ability to read and
play songs from CD. It is VERY scriptable.

Another option would be to download one of the various CD Scripting OSAX
(Scripting Extensions). You can find links to these off the
ApplescriptSourceBook site (http://www.applescriptsourcebook.com). The
hitch with this method is that the script would require a machine with
that particular scripting extension to run, whereas it can be assumed
that once Quicktime 5 GM is released, most people will have/want the upgrade.
