We actually do -- look at the mime headers of a typical message. We strip it
to 7 bit, however. The previous list server was MIME-blind, so it tended to
strip the mime headers completely but not clean up the text, so if you had a
client that could guess what to do and put it back together again, you'd
mostly be okay. But that's actually broken. Do two or three wrong things,
and somehow it works, except when it doesn't.
