I'm still working through the weekend's email, but my current plan is to get
everyone to agree one ONE encoding tool, write up a FAQ page for that tool
to put on the mail www.lists web site, link that page into all of the
applescript list documentation, and then modify the message footer and
digest headers to include a URL to that page, also, so the pointer will be
attached to every message, at least for a while, so that people figure out
what's going on be sheer repetition...
It looks like we have two or three variations here, and I'm not yet sure
which one is the "preferred" version. We'll work that issue over the next
couple of days.
FWIW -- the 8bit character support for mailman 2.1 (our list server) has
just been merged into the source and is being whacked about. It's still
pre-alpha, but the code is now being refined, not argued about. The real
solution to this is moving forward, also.
