That is supposed to be fixed in Mailman version 2.1, along with the text
digests being RFC compliant again, along with the 8 bit character support,
along with better internal scheduling that should cut down on the occasional
message delays we see when things get busy. And about 4,000 other things.
Mailman 2.1 is still pre-alpha, but there's a lot of work going on right
now, so it's moving forward. Depending on how stable things are, I might
choose to upgrade to a beta at some point, but only after I have a chance to
do some testing on a non-critical server.

Good question, yes and I think it's already part of the reworking of the
digest code for 2.1
