How about this:

tell application "Nisus Writer"
activate
open alias "Hard Disk:Desktop Folder:Clipping File"
select all
copy selection
end tell
tell application "Tex-Edit Plus"
activate
make new document
paste
end tell

No fancy additions required, although of course you do need Nisus Writer...
But hey! it's dirt cheap at the moment, specially if you take up the
competitive crossgrade (eg, from AppleWorks), you'll be supporting the only
remaining full-featured non-MS, third-party word processing solution for the
Mac, and getting a hell of a product into the bargain. You can even download
older versions for free!

Check out the demo at: http://www.nisus.com/Products/NisusWriter/

It's a win-win situation.

Cheers
