9.0.4 -> 8.5

The machine I'm writing ON is running OS 9.0.4,
the machine I'm writing FOR is running 8.5

The script works fine on my machine, the vital operating line is:

set the name of (foldername as alias) to newNameOfFolder

Is this going to work under 8.5?
or do I need to use something like Jon's Commands' "renameFile"?
