Hmmm. That's not quite the same as certain! So can't confirm that what
you do on a Mac (if this includes the header info) isn't lost in the
translation? I'm guessing then that the majority of what you do is
on the PC side, otherwise you'd know...and would probably relay that
in no uncertain terms! I can run Windows in Virtual PC and will have
to get around to trying GraphicConverter originated comments in PhotoShop
for windows... Hope Mohamed's listening. I don't really work in the
image business myself...

A point I ought to add is that I used to use BigPicture as my primary
lo-cal image viewer to scan through downloaded images to make sure they
came
through ok. I had to switch because images which are corrupted even to
the
point where other viewers wouldn't display them all, would somehow appear
complete and fine in BigPicture. Pretty robust viewer, but it makes it
impossible to tell which images are actually corrupt. Don't remember if
this applied to jpegs and gifs or just gifs. But worth a look if it can
somehow get more of a corrupted image...
