It worked when I worte it under 9.0.4...I retested it under 8.6 to be sure.

Make sure you have some configurations created...even if you don't you should get a "default" item.
You might try trashing your TCP/IP prefs and configurations and restarting.

I had a problem like that with Appletalk.
