I should have added that the script refers to the file in question by a
variable - which was set in 'alias' form, and the file has since been moved.
So probably again the Finder is having trouble, or taking too much time,
converting this to the Finder's own way of referring to files after the file
is moved to a new container. It's not that it fails every time - it doesn't.
It didn't fail when i was writing and testing the script, which is why I
used it. It just fails often enough to make it inconsistent and unreliable.
The error recorded in the alert message was actually "Apple Event timed
out." This happened on many occasion. You can't have scripts running
automatically and unattended depend on undependable commands. Using Akua's
"packaging" this doesn't happen.
There are a few of the more obscure "system" commands in Akua which still
don't work right, but you know it as soon as you try them for the first
time.
