AS hammers OS??

Have any of you experienced this? Or am I the only lucky one?

Several AS scripts were open when the system crashed, and since that time AS has
not reponded appropriaely. Specifically, has refused to check syntax on on
new scripts, will not complile old scripts, and seems to respond only to a
totally clean system.

By not respond, I mean a wrist watch icon appears and the systemn freezes.
Neither First Aid or Norton's finds anything wrong. Command period, Quit or
Force Quit do not fuction and the only way to reboot is with the reset button
othe CPU. An OS restore does not change anything, nor does removing the
existing AS and reinstalling it.

What is effective, is a clean install of the OS from the CD followed by careful
mixing of the Old and New system folders.

I am running OS 9.1 on a G4 with AS 6.1

Thnak you for your thoughts.
