"Pretty Good Privacy" It's an encryption scheme that is so secure that
it got the inventer (Phil Zimmerman) arrested for violations of a
national-security act because his distribution of it allowed it to go to
foreign governments. The charges were eventually dismissed. He sold it
to NAI (Network Associates, Inc.) a few years ago, and left the company
sometime this year.
