It wouldn't die, but if you had been using Akua terminology, it wouldn't
work either. Scripting additions are needed both at compile-time and at
runtime. For this reason, many scripter's prefer to rely on the 'vanilla'
set of commands which is part of the standard MacOS installation.
I believe you can add third party aete resources to applets, but I am not
sure, and never tried it. Always check the distribution details in the
documentation for third-party scripting additions.
It has to be said, though, that if you're only going to have one third-party
scripting addition, Akua is arguably the most serious contender.
Incidentally, scripting additions tend to be called OSAXen in applescript
related discussion groups. We know what you mean by 'sa', but only because
of the context. The acronym 'sa' is hardly ever used. Also, pretty much
everyone here knows Akua Sweets, so you can just call it Akua, rather than
Akua sa, or Akua OSAX, unless you're talking to someone who's completely new
to Applescript.
