People come and go so quickly around here... while I agree that some people
at Quark know (or at least should know) what needs to be done to their
scripting implementation I think it's probably a good sign that they are at
least asking. I also think it's a good idea to be sure that the people
asking this time know.

Quark. The lists coincide.
I'm digging out and updating my own personal bug list and feature request
and suggest that you everyone else concerned about it does.
But, for me, at least the biggest changes I would like to see:
Printing (and generating post scripts or EPS) from a script without any
dialogs ever. All errors or problems should be handled with appleEvent
errors or results. This should be true for missing images and fonts and
even missing printers and post script errors.
We should be able to define from script the bounds of the area we're
printing (or postScripting). This is available to the user interface.
Every user action should be supported fully with scripting. This should
include inserting pages with all the various options; section starts and
item grouping grouping and manipulation.
(This one might be doable in 4.1x) I would like a script to be able to get a
clipping path from an image identicle to the runaround generated from the
auto image runaround as a list of points.
Complex actions that are available to the user in a simple process should be
available in script form in a single command. This would include Collect
for Output and Update images, for example.
Finally, every EVERY extension from Quark should be Scriptable.
Any other thoughts?
