Folder Actions

  • Subject: Folder Actions

With no small thanks to the list yesterday, I have a script which'll resize
images and save them as JPEGS. This script uses Akua Sweets and seems to be
quite memory hungry (due, no doubt, to the size of the image I'm throwing at
it). The script works fine under Scripter and as an AppleScript application
if I allocate enough memory to it. However, when run as a folder action I
get an error returned. This error (-1700) is the same one I was seeing for
the AppleScript application prior to giving it more RAM.

Question: How do I allocate more memory to folder actions?

If this is not possible, can I pass parameters to an AppleScript application
(this way I can have my stand alone processing app being called by the
folder action)?

Thank you

Simon Forster
