At a Macworld SF event awhile back (1998, I think), I visited an area on the
floor where several OpenDoc Product vendors were clustered together. I
talked to several of them at length about their offerings. Not one of them
could explain what OpenDoc was or why I should want the product they were
selling.
The technology was so esoteric that Joe Consumer (me) saw nothing compelling
(or even remotely useful) in the stuff.
And I consider myself quite "computer literate" - having been employed as a
programmer since 1976.
Could THAT explain why OpenDoc is now just a fading memory?
