Peter -

You missed the point of "<Consumer Hat On>". How many "typical" consumers do
you know that would fall into the category of "as someone who had only been
'using' for a few months." until they actually HAD some OpenDoc parts.

This was a technology that was unexplainable to the consumer. You only
really grasped its benefits AFTER you used it. As such, it was impossible to
introduce into the mass marketplace. And in order for it to survive, it HAD
to get into the mass market.
