I have a simple AppleScript written December 2000 with whatever was
the current software at that time. The script runs fine! I think all
it does is tell the Finder to quit two particular applications (one
of which is a faceless background app).
With System 9.1, if I try to open that script with Script Editor, my
PB G3 2000 locks up solid--can't get to Macsbug or anything, have to
hard restart.
I just want to be able to view it and make future changes as needed.
Any ideas how I can regain access to that script? Is there any known
incompatibility between today's AppleScript and scripts written under
OS 9.0.4?
I also have MainEvent's Scripter v2.5, but that locks up my machine
solidly just by trying to launch it! Perhaps that's a clue? What
could a script and Scripter have in common that might cause this?
It's possible I wrote the script in Scripter's environment
originally--I don't remember.
