The script is to ease the merging process of multiple .ps files into one
.pdf file. They will be renamed, copied to the server, & then an adobe
distiller script needs to be copied to a location that will initiate the
merge process. The problem is that when an excel workbook is printed to
file, each worksheet becomes its own file and is named some arbitrary (very
long!) filename. Distiller is picky about how the file is named. Hence the
need for a script to reduce the time it takes to do this as well as make it
simpler for the user.
The Apple Script needs to have the following characteristics:
1. Rename a series of files in a folder chronologically 1.ps, 2.ps, 3.ps etc
(changing the name completely - nothing used of the old name).
2. Once renamed, they will need to be copied to a network location.
3. After being copied, a file (an adobe distiller script) on the remote
source needs to copied to another location on the same remote source to
initiate the merge process.
Thanks, Kevin
