I think it's more appropriate to say that developers just haven't gotten
around to it yet. Most developers I know still run OS 9 at least 90% of the time. Until that changes, there's little need for them to convert their scripting additions into a form they can use on Mac OS X.


Well, I suspect it runs deeper than that. If conversion is as easy as Apple says it is, it's a wonder that every osax of value has not yet made the switch, but in fact NONE have made the switch.
