Quite right. I did ask the list. (Or did I ask privately first and
the list later? I don't recall). Still, I stand corrected. But, the
sub-text which you detected in my opening remarks, was unintentional.
Put that down to my rhetorically carelessness.
And you kindly reminded me Apple has an explicit rule regarding
collection of list names:
In view of that rule, it seems a member has a contract with Apple
regarding the use of the material. Again, I stand corrected. (For
clarity, I would add I'm not sure what I would do with such a list
even if I had it).
Still, both observations engage relatively minor points in my letter
which was a response to the tone of Apples' reaction to my question.
Now the wings have stopped beating and the dove cote is calm once
more, may I ask. "Is there a searchable archive"?
