That clever dude would be none other than the mild mannered and very helpful
Motoyuki Tanaka, sometime in mid 2000, on Volume 1 of this very list (back in
the days when unedited digest subject headings would be rejected, posts
appeared in chronological order, and editor holy wars, off topic rants, and
mangled high ASCII gripes consumed less than 50% of the list server bandwidth
