Hi AppleScripters.
If anyone knows how IPNetRouter works, or if anyone
has had experience using applescript with IPNetRouter,
please read on.
I was previously trying to use AppleScript to grab my
current IP address from such IP address finders as IP
Addresser and BluIP, then have this IP address sent to
an email address using Eudora 5.0. I wanted this done
using a blue and white G3 350Mhz Power Macintosh tower
running OS 9.0.4. It was a standalone machine
connecting to the Internet via an internal 56K modem.
NOTE: Purchasing a static IP address is a luxury I
cannot afford at this time.
This time around I am using IPNetRouter 1.6 to share
my existing internet connection from my G3 tower with
a beige desktop 300Mhz G3 Power Macintosh - in effect
using my G3 tower as a server and the desktop G3 as a
workstation via a crossover ethernet cable.
This time I can't get the IP address that is assigned
by my ISP to appear with any of the IP address
finders, but instead the IP address from my ethernet
network.
In other words, instead of grabbing my ISP's
203.number.number.number
It's grabbing the same static number which I have
assigned:
192.168.0.1 - server
192.168.0.2 - workstation
In short: I need the IP address from my Internet
Service Provider to appear, NOT from ny ethernet
network.
Whatever suggestions you can come up with would be
most appreciated.
Patiently waiting for any reply,
Joe Baez.
