Just downloaded iTunes for OS-X. Loads fine. I am trying to tell it to use
my OS9 music folder (which is a liased to my OS 9 documents folder, which is
a liased from my boot partition (the former because I have not enough gigs
on docs partition for my CDs, the latter because it allows me to separate OS
from data).
I cannot for the life of me get iTunes to use this folder, even though the
docs claim it will. Has anybody succeeded? Any pointers? Of course drag and
drop is disabled, and of course like everywhere all the control-menus are
gone, so I cannot for the life of me figure why, why the preference is set
to use the correct folder, it just sits there with a stupid empty pane on
its face. I see that my documents folder has a folder called "music", and I
figured "well I guess this is not a copy of Madonna's latest album - perhaps
the OS is stupid enough that I have to place all my music in here, but to no
avail. Also tried a range of other choices. Zippo.
I am beginning to think the "X" in OS X stands for "guess the convoluted way
we have hidden this function from you". This is also the first time IN MY
LIFE I have ever spent more than 1 minute futzing with the finder. This
feels like windoze to me ... I hope I am wrong.
