Not strictly an AS question....but this is the kind of thing a scripter may
have already had to deal with.
I want to automate PDF production. One of the steps is to send the job to a
virtual post script printer which uses the Adobe virtual printer driver that
came with distiller.
Now, as we have some pretty bizzare fonts kicking around (especially in
linguistics) I want to ensure that all fonts are included both in the post
script file and in the ensuing pdf. The problem is that the printer defaults
to none on the download fonts setting, and has no save settings function.
The relevant file is the "PSPrinter Pref" which has a "Save to file
defaults" item in the "Sfdf" resource. The values starting at 000008 are,
0000 0000 0000.
Trial and error shows that setting to 0000 0001 0000 or any odd number in
the middle group changes the down load fonts setting (but not to "all") - so
I figure it is a bit-specific setting. I could be wrong though as none of
the obvious multiples do anything (I haven't confused hex with binary).
Anyone know what the "all" value is?
Sorry in advance that this is a bit of an off-list topic...
