Does anyone know what this means, and/or where I can find a list of error codes?

-1757 is "No such dialect."

apologies if that doesn't help, many AppleScript errors are obscure
to all but experience, and i have no experience with that one.
however, the error codes are in the appendix of the AppleScript
Language Guide, which is available from:
