float notation instead of scientific?

  • Subject: float notation instead of scientific?

hi all,

Is there a way to control how our favourite language (AppleScript of course)
represents numbers (i.e., scientific notation, engineering, floating point
(plus decimal accuracy)?

maybe
"reals like they taught in engineering school"
or
"floats like they use at the bank"

:-)

more seriously, anyone know how to do this?

iTim
