Changing default folder for Navigation Services

  • Subject: Changing default folder for Navigation Services

Hello

I would like to be able to force a File/Open dialog from Navigation Services
to open in a particular folder in my FaceSpan application.

I've tried using St. Clairs Default Folder product, and yes, it works
perfectly, but I can't justify a site licence purchase due to development
under Classic MacOS is about to cease & limited number of users that would
need this functionality.

If Navigation Services simply cannot be forced to a folder using either
vanilla AppleScript, or with an OSAX, then is there someway I can force the
old style non-Navigation Services dialog into a specific folder (this might
suffice as a workaround).

I've tried using Display Selector (from Akua) to do this, and it works great
in Script Editor - but once I compile it (either in Script Editor or
FaceSpan), for some reason it will invokes Navigation Services and not work,
despite the line of code telling it "without navigation services"!!!

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!!
