Two Stumps

In OS X I feel like I'm learning Applescript all over again. Maybe the
truth is I never knew what I was doing in the first place. I have two
problems:

One - I need to ask another machines Finder what its current date is.
Two - I need to set the clock of OS X Server to that date.

The command tell application "Finder" of machine
"eppc://yadda.yadda.yadda" returns an error when trying to connect to an
OS 9.1 Finder. Is this not possible to do?

How can I tell my system clock to set itself to a date of my choosing? (I
cannot use the built in feature of using a network time server because
the OS X Server cannot see the internet.)

TIA
Bill Metzinger
