Welcome to the wacky world of AppleScript! Some applications (Tex-Edit Plus,
iView) come with thoughtful documentation to support their AS dictionaries,
while others (including MegaPhone, apparently) just throw you right in at
the deep end.
These commands look potentially useful, though:

You could probably use a repeat loop with a brief delay built into it to
keep checking whether 'pAnswered' or 'pBusy' are true. Unless there's
someone on this list who's done a bit of MegaPhone scripting, though, a bit
of trial and error is probably your only feasible approach.
No AppleScript book has ever attempted to cover the quirks and complexities
of every scriptable application, and I doubt that MegaPhone is among the
apps that have been covered. For general reference, 'AppleScript in a
Nutshell' (O'Reilly/Pogue Press) is the front runner, although it may be
worth waiting for an edition that offers more info about scripting in OS X.
'AppleScript for Dummies' covered the basics pretty effectively, but it
hasn't had an overhaul since 1995, and AS has moved on some since then -
also, the system 7 screenshots are kinda depressing (although some older
readers may react with nostalgia instead)
