Identifying installed apps

Hi,

I'm far from being an AS ace and therefore turn hopefully to you people with
my problem:
Is there a script that can identify installed apps on a computer? I have
developed a FileMaker data base that I want to be able to send feed-back via
the email software installed on a computer.
