Scripting Palm Desktop (slight curve)

As I am very new to AS, I can't answer that. But I am interested in what you are talking about.I can set fields to use AS's, but that is all. What I can't figure out is how to change or add to Palm's default letter generating program.

I only goes to MacWrite or Claris Works. I use WordPerfect and, later this fall, I am going to get Office as well. How can I change the choice of Word processors? I tried moving a couple of AS's that opened letter templates into Palm's scripts folder. And, I can use empty fields to attach a scripts button. So I can do it as a work around. But it really is not a very elegant solution.

I am using Palm's Desktop in my never ending search for a good, business level PIM. I was a long time user of both Now and of ACT. But both have folded. Well, Now changed hands and I have still not upgraded from 3.6. ACT! remains 2.8. And I want to start using a PDA. So, I want stable, business savvy, and scriptable Mac savvy software. Any opinions about other choices? I see Filemaker has a mobile edition now. Is Filemaker a good candidate for scripting and PDA synching?

Dave

I have once again fooled myself into trying to do some AS'ing of the Palm
Desktop (ver 2.6.3).

After a couple of hours of experimentation I am at a total loss. I cannot
figure out how to get any calendar items at all.

The appropriate classes appear to be event and day event (see below) but no
matter what forms I use, I get back nothing. My eventual goal is to set the
primary category of all items based on their text.
