If you were giving away a zero-risk, zero-cost automation package with guaranteed returns I think you'd still have a hard time persuading folks to adopt it.
The Internet boom proved this, although I think the crux was that there is nothing that's zero-risk. Just living has risk, and everything you do incurs multiple different kinds of risks, including the use of free software.
If nothing else, you risk missing deadlines because you were playing with free software instead of working. ;)

Nobody wants to stick their head out of the trenches. Can't blame 'em.
I can. Now is not the time for timidness. Now is the time for boldness.
The economy is what we say it is. Jobs are made by people too. We'll dig out of this mess just like every one before it. Acting together, we can accomplish anything if we want to, so I'm hoping that we manage to make the planet somewhat more united as a result of recent events. Perhaps then those people won't have died in vain.
But we're supposed to be ranting about AppleScript, so remember, AppleScript is your secret weapon. I know that lots of people use my AppleScripts at work because they don't want to try writing them themselves.
That's my advantage, and I'm using it.
